I’m just like Anakin

I am. Remeber what Yoda kept saying about Anakin Skywalker? He kept talking about how there was so much fear inside of him. And he knew that fear would lead to his dimise. I heard recently that the opposite of love is fear. Which, I’m still working through, but I know that they definately go hand in hand. I have began to realize that I hve more fear than I would even admit to myself. I have fear of failure, intimacy, fear of being thought poorly, fear about my inadiquacy as a person, and probably more that I’m either unaware of or too afraid to say. Why do we have fear? What does it come from? Fear is so crimping if you don’t deal with it properly. It can make you so heavy and burdened when you should be light and free. Fear is always a trap door to disable you from trueli doing what God wants. If you are afraid, it will be very difficult for you to do what God has enabled you to do because if you allow it to, fear will eliminate faith in a moment. You will have yourself later because you know what you did is wrong, but your fear overcame you and not the other way around. Faith, trust, love all of these are really the best defenses against fear. We also have to be in community with people who know us well to allow us to open up and shine a light on our fear. Fear is darkness. Faith shines a light. Light is all that is good and true and right, whether it is in us or not. God is light, and his word shines a light on the darkest parts of our soul, illuminating us to our deepest core. That is why it says in Romans that the law was given to us to show that we couldn’t keep the law. It is the light shown upon of lives to realize our lack of goodness and our utter need of God. My favorite verse for evangelism now is: “The healthy don’t need a doctor, the sick do. I have come to call sinners not those who think they are already good enough.” If when the light is shown and you refuse to (because of your fear) repent and allow Jesus to renovate your heart, you have decided that you are healthy enough without Him thank you very much and any of His ideas and suggestions will be treated as such. But if when that light shines on you, you see your need and turn from the darkness that is in you, there is unbelievable life available down that road. So I am trying to replace fear with deep love and being proactive in feeling with the things of my heart. If I allow fear to grip me I will never be able to do any of the things God has me on this Earth to do.
